A single specimen was reported in São Tomé fish market in 2004 and was photographed by Diogo Paulo in shallow water at Ilheus Cabras (0°24’32’’N 6°42’52’’E) on 30 January 2017, thus providing the first record of a living individual from the eastern Atlantic. It was also seen by Nuno Vasco Rorigues (pers. comm.) while diving at the wreck 'Mar Vassa' (0º25.099’N, 6º41.718’E) and again in São Tomé fish market (Ref. 120288). A specimen was reported from the Gulf of Guinea (Ref. 57865). |
